EyeyContact, 2022

Sewed an extra pair of eyes.. do we need constant eye contact to communicate?

Autistic people's ability to socialize is often impaired, which can be expressed in the fact that the individual avoids eye contact with other people.
It is often hard to make eye contact with an autistic person and it is often short-lived. On the other hand, sometimes the individual stares into people's eyes without any apparent communicative purpose.

When my son was starting the diagnostic process at age 2, this was one of the characteristics that they noticed. He often looked at something else on the face or avoided looking directly at the person. Today he does look you in the eye but on his terms.
